Wilde Lodge wedding photography – Jenny & Chris + Jess & Rob
Wilde Lodge wedding photography
I was really excited to capture my first wedding at Wilde Lodge, a stunning rural venue on the English-Welsh border, offering epic countryside views. It was the perfect spot for a weekend full of love, fun, and celebration.
No matter how long you’ve been a wedding photographer, there’s always a first. This time, I had the unique opportunity to photograph two couples tying the knot on the same day at the same venue. Jenny and Chris, along with Jess and Rob share mutual friends and a love for partying hard at festivals and electronic music, which made this unconventional idea work perfectly.
The day was action-packed, with two personal ceremonies led by close friends, heartfelt speeches, and a host of exciting activities, from an energetic samba band and fire breathers to techno and house DJs spinning tracks into the night.
These couples threw tradition out the window, doing things their own way. There wasn’t a white dress in sight, and the guests embraced the a full-on festival spirit, showing up in vibrant array of outfits that you’d usually see at the likes of Glastonbury or Shambala.
With so much going on, I barely had time to catch my breath, but it was an absolute blast to photograph. I love immersing myself in the energy of the day, and this time, I got covered in glitter, fitting right in with the fun and relaxed party vibe.
“Several of our guests commented on how friendly he was and how they barely noticed when he was taking pictures; how he managed to capture the day so wonderfully and chat to guests whilst also sometimes going unnoticed is a real skill!”
