North Hidden Barn wedding photography

This was my first time photographing a wedding at the beautiful North Hidden Barn in rural Hungerford, and what an absolute treat it was! Tucked away in the Berkshire countryside, North Hidden Barn is a real hidden gem. It might not have a traditional wedding venue website, but don’t let that put you off. With its relaxed atmosphere and rustic setting, it’s a brilliant option for couples looking for somewhere a little different to celebrate their wedding.

As a North Hidden Barn wedding photography experience, this one had everything I love, a laid-back couple, a brilliant group of guests, great music, amazing food and absolutely no shortage of fun.

A Relaxed Wedding at North Hidden Barn

Megan and Ed chose my Part Day package, so I joined them around 30 minutes before their laid-back ceremony and stayed right through to the end of the band’s first set, roughly an hour after their first dance. This gave me plenty of time to capture the important moments while still keeping things relaxed and unobtrusive.

There was no need for hours of formal photographs or anything overly staged. The day was all about enjoying time with friends and family, and that’s exactly the kind of atmosphere I love documenting.

Brilliant Wedding Suppliers

Megan and Ed had also put together a fantastic team of suppliers. The wonderfully funny celebrant David Linaker brought plenty of personality to the ceremony, while Quintin Catering provided some seriously mouth-watering food.

Once the evening celebrations got going, the Blue Lion Band took things up another notch with a set of high-energy tunes that had everyone on the dance floor. It was the perfect combination for a relaxed barn wedding.

Documentary Wedding Photography at North Hidden Barn

For me, the best wedding photographs aren’t necessarily the ones where everyone is looking at the camera. They’re the photographs that bring you straight back to how the day actually felt. At North Hidden Barn, there were so many of those moments, laughter during the ceremony, friends catching up, great food, plenty of dancing and all the little bits of chaos that make a wedding memorable.

The rustic surroundings and relaxed atmosphere made it a particularly enjoyable wedding to photograph, and I can definitely see why couples looking for something informal and personal are drawn to this kind of venue. Megan and Ed’s wedding was an incredible day full of laughter, music and love. A genuinely brilliant celebration at one of Berkshire’s best-kept wedding secrets.
