The Battleaxes wedding photography

If you’re looking for an amazing alternative wedding venue in Bristol, check out The Battleaxes. Cool, rustic, friendly and different. All things that Jude and George were looking for in a venue to celebrate their big day. Sadly the sun didn’t have his hat on but they didn’t let that phase them and didn’t put a dampener on their day (pardon the expression!)

The whole day took place at the same venue making it nice and easy for all their guests and the couple. In the morning I met Jude and the girls for bridal preparations. It’s always so nice to work with people who have a similar sense of humour, needless to say we had a few laughs. Ignoring tradition and superstition, Jude saw George and had a mingle with her guests before their ceremony. I don’t think she could wait to having fun with friends and family.

The ceremony room at The Battleaxes looked brilliant, having been tastefully decorated by the lovely couple. Jude walked into the room packed full of friends and family. The ceremony was touching (I was almost in tears), there was even a musician and a sing along, which everyone participated in. This was very cool and something a bit different.

After the ceremony we managed to brave the rain (with umbrellas) and get the whole wedding party outside for a confetti tunnel. it was all worth it for the photos that I captured.

Wellies on, the newly weds and I headed to a nearby wooded area to capture some couple shots. It was wet but fully determined we still got some awesome shots and made the most of the rainy weather. My sort of couple!

In the meantime the staff at the venue had turned the ceremony room into a cool place for their wedding breakfast. The speeches delivered tears and laughter so were perfect for capturing some great shots.

During the speeches I noticed bit of sun peeking through the clouds so straight after I decided the grab the couple to make the most of the evening light. Luckily we didn’t miss the stunning sunset.

These guys knew how to party and the band got everyone on the dance floor popping some shapes. At one stage the bride even got behind the mic. Not a bad singer I have to say, but that was to be expected since she’s in a band herself. I’d like to thank the wonderful couple for choosing my photography services and for sharing their big day with me.
