ABOUT ME
I’m Simon, Bristol born and bred, and I’ve been taking photography seriously since I was 18. It seemed like a pretty natural choice to turn something I loved into a career, and I’ve been a full-time self-employed photographer since 2008. That’s almost 20 years of doing what I love and, somehow, I’m still just as excited to get out there and take photographs as I was when I started.
I regularly photograph weddings across Bristol, Bath, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Herefordshire and South Wales, as well as travelling further afield to Devon, Dorset, Cornwall and Pembrokeshire. I’ve even had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the rather spectacular Westminster Abbey in central London.
Over the years, my clients have described me as an easy-going, hard-working and reliable photographer who they’ve genuinely enjoyed having around on their wedding day. I’ve also been told I’m pretty good at making people who normally hate having their photograph taken feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera, which is always nice to hear!

My Photography Style
My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive. I like to let things unfold naturally rather than forcing moments or creating overly posed images. I’ll give direction when it’s helpful, but I’m happiest when people can simply be themselves and forget the camera is there.
I love photographs that have energy and emotion, the big laughs, the quiet moments, the chaos, the character and all the wonderfully imperfect bits in between. I love to create images that feel authentic and alive, while still being beautifully composed and considered.
Visually, my work is bright, clean and colourful, with a strong appreciation for natural and ambient light. I keep my editing fresh and true to life, preserving natural skin tones and the colours of the environment rather than relying on heavy filters or fashionable editing styles. Ultimately, I want my photographs to feel honest, vibrant and timeless. Images that don’t just show what happened, but bring back how it felt to be there.

What’s it like having me around?
Well, I tend to get on particularly well with couples who have a good sense of humour and don’t take themselves too seriously. I want the time you spend with me to be relaxed and light-hearted, but that doesn’t mean I ever forget how important the photographs I’m taking are to you and the people you love.
The couples I’ve photographed over the years have generally wanted the same thing: authentic, candid photographs that capture how their wedding actually felt, without having a photographer constantly taking over.
For most of the day, I want you and your guests to forget I’m even there. I’ll be wandering around in the background, keeping an eye out for those little moments that might otherwise go unnoticed, the laughs, the tears, the ridiculous dancing, the hugs and all the other wonderfully imperfect bits that make your wedding yours.

Away from weddings…
When I’m not photographing weddings, I live in an Edwardian terraced house packed full of period charm with my partner in crime, Carly. We’ve been together since 2010 and, fortunately, have very similar tastes in almost everything. This has resulted in us acquiring a rather eclectic collection of weird and wonderful decorative antiques, which are scattered around our colourful and slightly eccentric home.
I’m also an unashamed cat Dad to Max, Louie and Charlie, my very handsome feline trio. They’re a huge part of the family and, apparently, also my colleagues, as they regularly keep me company while I’m working away in my home office. To date, however, I’ve yet to see any evidence of them actually doing any work or making me a single cup of tea.
They’re far more likely to be found walking across my keyboard, sitting on my desk or making a surprise appearance during an online meeting, usually with their bum pointed directly at the camera. They do make up for it with plenty of kisses, cuddles and their daily supply of completely ridiculous cat antics.

Wildlife photography & awards
When I’m not photographing people, you’ll usually find me somewhere in nature with a camera in my hand, photographing wildlife. I’m particularly fascinated by British wildlife, especially charismatic red foxes and beautiful brown hares, and that passion has taken me all over the UK and beyond.
I’m incredibly proud that my wildlife photography has been recognised in competitions including Wildlife Photographer of the Year and MontPhoto, and that I was named Overall Winner of the 2025 British Wildlife Photography Awards.
