As a Tortworth Court wedding photographer, I absolutely love photographing weddings that feel personal, relaxed and full of genuine moments, and Catherine and Nick’s beautiful summer wedding at De Vere Tortworth Court was exactly that.

Set in the heart of Gloucestershire, Tortworth Court is an incredible wedding venue, with its grand historic manor house, beautiful gardens, woodland, far-reaching views and plenty of amazing spaces for a big celebration. Catherine and Nick chose the light-filled Orangery for their wedding, which was the perfect setting for a day full of sunshine, laughter, family, friends and plenty of fun.

There was a brilliant atmosphere from the very start. The morning preparations were full of excitement, with what felt like a never-ending group of bridesmaids and groomsmen, 15 in total! There was plenty of laughter, a few nerves and lots going on, which made for some great moments to photograph.

The ceremony took place in the beautiful Orangery, with its historic Victorian architecture. The couple went to town on the decor and the place looked incredible. It was a really emotional one, with plenty of happy tears from family and friends. There were so many lovely little moments happening throughout the ceremony that I was spoilt for choice.

After the ceremony, Catherine and Nick headed outside and straight into a confetti tunnel made up of all their guests. They were showered in flower petals as they walked through, which made for some brilliant, colourful photographs. The grounds at Tortworth Court are a photographer’s dream, with loads of different spots for couple photos. While everyone enjoyed drinks and canapés, we took a little time to wander around the grounds and grab some relaxed photos of the two of them.

I always like to keep this part of the day pretty chilled. There’s no disappearing off for hours or spending the whole afternoon posing. Just a bit of time together, a few photos and then back to the party. While we were outside, the Orangery was being turned around for the wedding breakfast. The colourful flowers looked amazing against the historic setting, and the room was soon full of everyone enjoying some food, drinks and the speeches.

The dance-floor was packed, and there was plenty of action to photograph as everyone got stuck into the evening celebrations. Catherine and Nick weren’t about to leave all the fun to their guests either. At one point, they even jumped behind the decks themselves and dropped some fat Drum & Bass.
