One of the best things about being a Folly Farm wedding photographer is working at such a stunning venue with epic countryside views. It’s a dream location for couples looking for a relaxed, nature-inspired wedding, and every time I return, it never fails to deliver.

Rosie and Luke’s big day was a perfect example of what makes this place so special. Their wedding was inspired by a shared love of nature and wildlife, so where better to celebrate than a venue surrounded by the beautiful English countryside?

Thoughtful details were woven throughout the day, from the flowery design of Rosie’s dress to the table plan and centrepieces, which featured charming illustrations of various British wildlife species. These personal touches gave the celebration a truly unique and heartfelt feel.

The couple chose to tie the knot alfresco-style in Folly Farm’s stunning orchard. Midway through the ceremony, a surprise guest made a memorable entrance, Winston the barn owl, carrying the couple’s rings! Arranged by the best man, this feathery addition was a hit with everyone. Winston stuck around for the drinks reception, entertaining guests and even photobombing some of the group shots in hilarious fashion. He was a magical (and sometimes mischievous) highlight of the day, and the groom was blown away by the surprise.

We were incredibly lucky with wall-to-wall sunshine pretty much all day long. It would have been a crime not to make use of the golden hour, so we slipped away for some couple portraits just as the sun dipped below the horizon. It was the perfect way to capture the natural beauty of the surroundings and the joy of the newlyweds.

The day wrapped up with a lively round of ceilidh dancing, and I loved capturing all the energy and laughter as the evening drew in. A relaxed, joy-filled wedding from start to finish. One I won’t forget any time soon.
