Folly Farm Wedding Photographer – Rosie + Luke

One of the best things about being a Folly Farm wedding photographer is getting to work at such a stunning countryside venue. With its beautiful grounds, incredible views and connection to nature, it’s a dream location for couples looking for a relaxed, nature-inspired wedding. And every time I return, it never fails to deliver.

Rosie and Luke’s wedding was a perfect example of what makes Folly Farm so special. Their day was inspired by a shared love of nature and wildlife, so there really couldn’t have been a more fitting place to celebrate their marriage.

A Nature-Inspired Wedding at Folly Farm

Thoughtful details were woven throughout the day, giving everything a really personal feel.

From the beautiful floral design of Rosie’s dress to the table plan and centrepieces, which featured charming illustrations of British wildlife, there were little nods to their shared passion everywhere you looked.

These personal touches made the celebration feel completely unique to Rosie and Luke and gave me plenty of lovely details to capture throughout the day. The couple chose to tie the knot alfresco-style in the beautiful orchard at Folly Farm, surrounded by the Somerset countryside.

And then came one of the biggest surprises of the day.

A Barn Owl Brings the Wedding Rings

Halfway through the ceremony, a very unexpected guest made an entrance. Winston the barn owl arrived carrying Rosie and Luke’s wedding rings!

The surprise had been secretly arranged by the best man, and needless to say, Winston was an instant hit with everyone. He stuck around for the drinks reception, entertaining guests and even managing to photobomb some of the group photographs in hilarious fashion.

He was a magical and occasionally mischievous addition to the day, and the bride and groom was completely blown away by the surprise.

As a Folly Farm wedding photographer, I’m always looking for those unexpected moments that make a wedding completely your own. A barn owl delivering the rings definitely falls into that category!

Golden Hour Wedding Photography

We were incredibly lucky with the weather, enjoying wall-to-wall sunshine for pretty much the entire day.

With the light looking this good, it would have been a crime not to make the most of golden hour. So, as the sun began to dip below the horizon, we slipped away for some relaxed couple portraits.

The warm evening light, beautiful countryside and huge smiles from the newlyweds made for some gorgeous photographs.

Ceilidh Dancing at Folly Farm

The day wrapped up with a lively round of ceilidh dancing, and I loved capturing all the energy, laughter and slightly chaotic dance moves as the evening drew in. It was the perfect way to finish a wedding that had been full of personality from beginning to end.

Rosie and Luke’s Folly Farm wedding was relaxed, colourful and completely personal, with beautiful countryside, thoughtful details, a barn owl ring bearer and a brilliant party thrown in for good measure.
