Folly Farm Centre wedding photographer – Molly + Mike

It was my second time being a Folly Farm Centre wedding photographer in 2025, and I’d been looking forward to Molly and Mike’s super-fun, colourful celebration from the moment we met.

During their pre-wedding shoot, they talked me through all their plans for the day, and I knew straight away that this was going to be a brilliant wedding, relaxed, joy-filled and absolutely bursting with personality.

An Outdoor Wedding at Folly Farm Centre

Molly and Mike chose to have their alfresco ceremony in the beautiful courtyard at Folly Farm Centre, with incredible views stretching across the rolling Somerset countryside.

The styling was every bit as colourful as the setting, with multicoloured ribbons, vibrant florals and loads of little details that made the space feel completely theirs.

One of their close friends officiated the ceremony, adding an incredibly meaningful and personal touch. It felt warm, relaxed and full of genuine emotion, with plenty of smiles and laughter along the way.

As a Folly Farm Centre wedding photographer, I love the fact that the venue lends itself so naturally to this kind of celebration. The countryside is right there, the atmosphere is relaxed and there are loads of opportunities to get outside and make the most of the surroundings.

Colourful, Relaxed Wedding Photography

The whole day was an absolute dream to photograph. There were endless moments packed with colour, energy and emotion, from some playful smoke flare fun to laid-back couple portraits making the most of the beautiful Somerset countryside.

I always want couple portraits to feel like a natural part of the day rather than a formal photoshoot. There’s no disappearing off for ages or standing around awkwardly while I take hundreds of photographs.

Instead, we took a little time together, wandered around the grounds, enjoyed the scenery and captured some relaxed portraits before getting back to the celebrations.

The speeches were every bit as entertaining as the rest of the day, with plenty of laughter and brilliant reactions from the couple, their families and friends.

A Ceilidh at Folly Farm Centre

To round off Molly and Mike’s wonderful wedding, they treated their guests to a ceilidh, which is pretty much guaranteed to get everyone onto the dance floor.

Young and old were strutting, spinning, laughing and trying to work out which way they were supposed to be going. It made for some brilliant, energetic photographs and was the perfect way to bring everyone together for the evening celebrations.

Then, just as the last bit of sunshine dipped behind the hills, we slipped outside for one final round of couple photos.

The evening light was beautiful, the countryside looked incredible and it was the perfect way to finish an already brilliant day.
