It was such a joy to be back at the glorious Leigh Court in Bristol, especially to photograph such a wonderful couple. We were blessed with incredible October sunshine, and with a venue and grounds as stunning as these, it was the perfect setting for a brilliant wedding day.

Leigh Court is one of those venues that really does have the wow factor. From the incredible architecture and grand interiors to the beautiful grounds outside, there are amazing backdrops everywhere you look. It’s a dream for Leigh Court wedding photography, particularly when the weather plays ball!

A Wedding in the Great Hall

The ceremony took place in the Great Hall, which really does live up to its name. Danielle made a spectacular entrance down the breathtaking floating staircase, creating one of those moments that was impossible not to get excited about photographing.

From there, the day was filled with laughter, love and plenty of high spirits. The couple and their guests were clearly ready for a proper celebration, which meant there was no shortage of genuine moments, big reactions and plenty of fun happening throughout the day. For me, this is what makes photographing weddings so enjoyable. Rather than spending the day directing and posing everyone, I can simply get amongst it and capture all the brilliant stuff as it happens.

Relaxed Wedding Photography at Leigh Court

After the ceremony came a round of hilarious and heartfelt speeches, with plenty of laughter and a few emotional moments thrown in for good measure.

Once the speeches were over, we headed outside for an epic sparkler tunnel. With the October evening drawing in, the sparklers lit up the darkness and created a brilliant opportunity for some fun photographs with all their guests. It’s moments like this that make a wedding gallery feel like a proper story of the day, not just a collection of formal photographs.

90s and Noughties Rock on the Dance Floor

Back inside, everyone gathered around the dance floor for the bride and grooms’s first dance. Then the DJ cranked up a playlist packed with 90s and early-noughties rock classics. It didn’t take long for the dance floor to fill up, with everyone throwing themselves into the celebrations and showing off their best moves. Exactly the kind of wedding reception I love photographing!

The combination of an incredible venue, glorious October sunshine, a brilliant bunch of guests and a seriously good party made this such a memorable day. A beautiful Leigh Court wedding from beginning to end, and another wedding that reminded me why I love doing what I do.
