Old Oak Farm wedding photography, Somerset – Sophie & Loz

When I first met Sophie and Loz I knew from the start that their wedding was going to be epic. I was really looking forward to the day as I’d never taken photos at Old Oak Farm before and only heard good things about it. I absolutely adore the laid back festival vibe to the venue and I was in my element all day long.

I met the girls at The Langford country house (which isn’t far from Old Oak Farm) for the morning preparations. The girls were having lots of fun and had already cracked open the champagne. Sophie and Loz have a beautiful little girl so it was really important to capture shots of her at some point during the day. She was instantly being cute so I didn’t have to wait long.

Arriving at the venue I was met with a sea of wonderful bright colours. there was multicoloured ribbens tied up all over the place. A theme which ran throughout the whole day. As Sophie and Loz did all the legal stuff ahead of their day they could do pretty much what they wanted during the ceremony in front of all their friends and family. The grooms big sister conducted the ceremony and needless to say it was difficult for her to hold back her emotions. I really like ceremonies like this as they’re so personal and unique. It was the first time (and probably the last) I’ve witnessed the bride and groom presented with a pint each during a wedding ceremony.

To say I love the venue would an understatement, it’s sooo cool and well suited to my style of photography. It’s rustic charm is perfect for creating some really awesome couple shots. I would highly recommend this venue for couples looking for a super chilled affair.

These guys didn’t hang around to start the evening shenanigans. Pretty much straight after the speeches the parents of the bride sang in an emotional first dance. The rest of wedding party got stuck right in and literally partied all night long. I think it was inevitable that the colourful ribbens came off the backs of the chairs and ended tied around the party goers heads.
