I was super excited to be the Great Tythe Barn wedding photographer for Alex & Sean’s chilled-out wedding at this gorgeous rustic barn in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside, just a stone’s throw from the iconic village of Tetbury.

Alex and Sean both got ready at the venue, which meant I could easily bounce between the bride and groom preparations throughout the morning. There were definitely some nerves, but mostly just loads of excitement for the day ahead. Everyone was in great spirits and it was a really fun way to kick off the days proceedings.

The couple decided to have their ceremony outside in the venue’s beautiful garden. In the middle of the crazy heat of summer 2026, the weather was actually pretty kind to us. It was still warm, but a little cooler than some of the scorching days we’d been having, which meant the guys could make it through the ceremony without completely melting in their suits!

Once Alex and Sean had officially tied the knot, they headed back down the aisle to a brilliant shower of flower petals from their guests. They then jumped into Alex’s uncle’s amazing Morris Minor, complete with a converted soft top, for a quick spin around the local area. They soon returned to a very excited wedding party, who were more than ready to crack on with the celebrations.

As the Morris Minor was so cool we decided to use it as backdrop for the group photos, with loads of character and plenty of rustic charm. When it came to the couple photos, we took a wander around the grounds and grabbed some relaxed portraits while Alex & Sean had a bit of time to soak in the day by themselves.

I never want couples disappearing off for ages to have their photos taken. You’ve got a party to enjoy! So we kept it short, relaxed and easy, grabbed some great shots and then got Alex and Sean straight back to their guests.

The wedding breakfast and evening celebrations all happened in the main barn, which soon turned into a proper party.

The DJ smashed out some classic wedding bangers and the dance floor was packed with guests of all ages. There were some serious dance moves going on, which meant plenty of opportunities to get some fun, action-packed shots of everyone throwing shapes.

It was a brilliant day from start to finish, relaxed, loads of fun and completely centred around having a great time with the people Alex and Sean love. Exactly how a wedding should be.
