I was thrilled to be photographing Lowri and Ajay’s vibrant British-Indian fusion wedding at the beautiful Matara Centre in Gloucestershire. I have never had a longer day of shooting than at this epic wedding. I started at 7.30am to capture the tail end of bridal preparations and finished at 9.30pm after photographing a packed dance floor full of all the couples lively friends and family. It was simply amazing to see 2 cultures come together to create the most magical, colourful and fun day.

The first event of the day was the Baraat, which is a procession of the groom. Ajay climbed onto a white horse, which is customary at a Sikh wedding, and there was an energetic musical performance and lots of fun dancing. Then the wedding party headed to the Shri Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Swindon for the Anand Karaj ceremony.

We returned to the Matara Centre for the British portion of the wedding day. A personalised ceremony was conducted by the celebrant, along with a sit-down meal, funny speeches, a cake cutting, even more dancing, and some fun traditional Indian games.
