Wick Farm wedding photography – Jordan + James

If you’re looking for a Wick Farm wedding photographer, then look no further. In the summer of 2022, I was lucky enough to be chosen to photograph James & Jordan’s fun-packed, wonderfully whimsical and completely relaxed wedding at the stunning Wick Farm near Bath.

From the very first time we chatted online, it was clear that these two were going to be a joy to work with. They were down-to-earth, incredibly easygoing and, most importantly, wanted their wedding photography to feel natural and unforced. They booked me to cover the whole shebang, from the morning preparations right through to the evening shenanigans.

A relaxed Wick Farm wedding

Wick Farm is a brilliant setting for a relaxed countryside wedding. There’s something about the combination of the beautiful surroundings, rustic character and laid-back atmosphere that makes it such a great place to celebrate with the people you love.

From the moment I arrived, there was a real sense that this wasn’t going to be a day ruled by schedules and formalities. Instead, it was all about spending time together, having a brilliant time and letting the day unfold naturally.

My approach is primarily about documenting what’s happening rather than constantly pulling people away from it. I want couples to remember how their wedding actually felt, the hugs, the ridiculous moments, the happy tears, the belly laughs and all the little things they probably didn’t even notice happening around them.

From morning preparations to the dance floor

Starting with the morning preparations meant I got to see the excitement gradually build. Those early hours of a wedding day are always packed with brilliant little moments, nervous anticipation, laughter, last-minute preparations and plenty of emotions bubbling away beneath the surface.

There were tears of joy, huge smiles, plenty of laughter and all the wonderfully chaotic moments you’d hope for at a wedding. James and Jordan had surrounded themselves with an amazing crowd, and everyone seemed completely invested in celebrating with them.

Natural, fun and completely unforced

One of my favourite things about photographing weddings is that every couple brings their own personality to the day. James and Jordan’s wedding was full of character, and there was a wonderfully playful energy running through the whole celebration.

There was no shortage of laughter, hugs, happy tears and dance floor tomfoolery. The sort of moments where everyone forgets about the camera and simply gets on with having a fantastic time.

I don’t want couples to spend their wedding day worrying about where they’re supposed to stand or whether they’re looking at the camera. I want them to be present, enjoying themselves with their friends and family while I quietly document everything happening around them.

A wedding photographer couldn’t ask for more

I couldn’t have asked for a better crowd at Wick Farm. From the moment I arrived until the evening celebrations were in full swing, I felt incredibly welcome.

There was such a lovely atmosphere throughout the day, and it was obvious just how much James and Jordan meant to the people around them. That sense of connection is something I always look for when photographing a wedding, because it’s those relationships that create so many of the photographs you’ll treasure afterwards.

By the time the evening celebrations kicked off, the dance floor was exactly where everyone needed to be. Plenty of energy, plenty of questionable dance moves and absolutely no shortage of fun.
