Woodlands Church Bristol wedding photographer – Hannah + Stu

It was my second time being a Woodlands Church Bristol wedding photographer, and just like the first time, the bride, groom and all their guests were incredibly warm and welcoming.

From a lively morning getting ready in Brislington to an uplifting ceremony at Woodlands Church, relaxed portraits around Redland and a packed dance floor at the end of the night, Hannah and Stu’s wedding was full of personality, emotion and plenty of fun.

Getting Ready in Brislington

The day began in Brislington, where I joined the lovely Hannah and a house full of excited bridesmaids and flower girls.

The air was buzzing with laughter, anticipation and, of course, plenty of hairspray. It was the perfect combination for capturing relaxed, natural moments as everyone got ready for the day ahead.

One of my favourite parts of the morning was seeing the reactions during the first looks. Both Hannah’s bridesmaids and her dad had incredibly emotional reactions when they saw her ready for the ceremony, creating some really lovely moments to photograph.

A Wedding at Woodlands Church Bristol

From there, I headed to Woodlands Church Bristol, also known as “Woodies”, to meet Stu and photograph guests as they arrived.

The church had been beautifully decorated with colourful, personal touches that made the space feel completely theirs. Ceremonies at Woodies always have such an uplifting atmosphere, with heartfelt moments, plenty of joy and incredible live music creating a really special experience for everyone there.

As a Woodlands Church Bristol wedding photographer, I love being able to capture not just what happens during the ceremony, but all the reactions and interactions happening around it, the laughter, happy tears, hugs and little moments between friends and family.

Bristol Wedding Photography Around Redland

After the ceremony, we headed over to Redland Green for some relaxed couple portraits.

With the grand Redland Church providing a beautiful backdrop, we captured some natural photographs of Hannah and Stu enjoying a little time together away from the main celebrations.

We even made a stop at Redland Green train station for a few fun and unconventional photographs. It turned out to be a brilliant spot for something a little different and added some proper Bristol character to their wedding photos.

I always prefer keeping couple portraits relaxed and relatively short. Your wedding day isn’t a photoshoot, so there’s no reason to disappear for hours. A little time together, a few great locations and then it’s back to your guests.

A DIY Wedding Reception at The Elmgrove Centre

The drinks reception took place at The Elmgrove Centre, which is a fantastic blank-canvas venue for creative, personal and DIY weddings.

The speeches delivered the perfect combination of emotion and humour, with brilliant words from the father of the bride, groom, best man and Hannah’s sister.

There were plenty of laughs, a few emotional moments and some fantastic reactions from the guests, exactly the kind of stuff that makes documentary-style wedding photography so much fun.

Live Music and a Packed Dance Floor

The night finished exactly as it should: with a packed dance floor and an epic live band playing all the wedding classics.

Guests were throwing themselves into the celebrations, creating plenty of energy and some brilliant opportunities for fun, action-packed photographs.

Hannah and Stu’s Woodlands Church Bristol wedding was a brilliant celebration from start to finish, personal, colourful, relaxed and full of love.
