Lakeside wedding in Somerset

It was my first time as a Yarlington Barn wedding photographer, and I was excited to explore this beautiful Somerset wedding venue. Set beside a stunning lake, Yarlington Barn is a wonderful location for a relaxed countryside wedding, with plenty of natural beauty and photo opportunities to discover.

We were even treated to a little wildlife during the day. A brown hare appeared on the far side of the lake, while a colourful kingfisher whizzed past before perching on a nearby tree. It was a lovely reminder of just how peaceful and picturesque the setting is.

We were also blessed with some incredible September sunshine, creating beautiful natural light for Yarlington Barn wedding photography. After Lucy and Bo’s heartfelt ceremony, guests were greeted with platters of tasty pasties, a nod to the groom’s Cornish heritage.

For the couple’s portraits, we took a relaxed stroll around the lake, making the most of the picturesque grounds and beautiful September light. At one point, the newlyweds’ rather dapper and very cute one-year-old son joined us for a few photographs, a lovely little moment that made the portraits even more personal.
